  • Born and raised in Waterloo, Ontario.
  • Started playing piano at age six and trombone at age ten.
  • High School band - The Trendsetters (later The Carnival), pictured The Magic Circus (around 1969)
  • Queen's University (Kingston), graduated 1974 with Bachelor of Music
  • Taught school for 12 years - main interest grade seven and eight band
  • After teaching became full-time musician (first love).
  • Great spots Tim has played include: Klondike Inn (Whitehorse, Yukon); Blinkbonnie Hotel (Gananoque, ON); Amherstview Alliance Church; Glen House Resort (Thousand Island Parkway); Island Queen Tour Boat (Kingston, ON); Rockport Boat Lines (Rockport, ON); Officer's Mess (RCCS, Kingston and RCAF, Trenton, ON); Austrian Club (Kingston); Boathouse Tavern (Rockport); Patterson Kaye Lodge (Bracebridge, ON); Festival of the Islands (Gananoque); International Plowing Match-2007 (Kingston).
  •  CURRENT INTERESTS include computer based music composition, which has resulted in the production of numerous customized backgrounds for gospel singers and school choirs. MIDI based music composition has led to several personal albums plus albums for other musicians. Tim has developed and sold hundreds of background tracks and many of these are for sale (or will be offered very soon) on this site.
  • CURRENTLY PLAYING in several combinations of midi and live performances with and without other musicians.
  • SPARE CHANGE. Tim plays piano with DAN KASABOSKI (talented guitarist and singer - full-time CA) and DOUG GRAVELLE (formerly with The Bells, one fine drummer) (and sometimes CLIFF EDWARDS - formerly with The Bells)
  • TOO MUCH. Tim and MARY JO MAUR (talented singer and full-time lawyer)
  • MICHAEL K MYERS. In a duo or trio sometimes with drummer GARY BARRAT

Myers and Gary Barratt)
  • Tim's niece, Ottawa's Sarah Hallman  is a rising star on the Canadian music scene.
  • Tim's first cousin in Kitchener, Paul Stouffer, is a very well established pianist in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. 'Googling' him produced this: His band, "Night Life", performs to a wide variety of corporate functions and weddings across southern Ontario. He has participated as a jazz clinician with Peter Appleyard. More recently he was an adjudicator inthe jazz piano category at the Stratford Kiwanis Music Festival.Recently, Paul acted as a clinician with the Jazz Jam Clinic sponsored by the KW Optimist Club. Currently Paul plays at local jazz clubs including Manhattan Restaurant in Guelph and Cafe Bolero in Kitchener and teaches private lessons in jazz improvisation and composition.
